Sally McEnallay

hello

You’ll be please to hear this isn’t a recent photo. A lifetime has passed since I was this mudlarking toddler. What she and I still have in common is curly hair and a burning sense of curiosity, which is what I want to share with you.

I live in London, my heart is in Scotland and my head is frequently all over the place. I have recently finished an MA in Critical and Cultural Studies at Birkbeck, writing on Environmental Art and the Climate Emergency. This blog is an attempt to distill some of this high falutin thought into practical, positive, hopeful thinking about how we might use imagination to help us reconnect with the natural world and the joy that many of us were lucky enough to find in it as small children.

I’ll be talking about environmental art, nature writing, community climate action projects, but also about walking the dog, gardening, food and anything else that brings me joy. Much of this will be about sharing and championing other people’s work in this space. There are some magical things happening where culture and nature meet and people are coming together to build environmental connections in lots of exciting ways. I hope you’ll find something here to enjoy.
